Ohio State Highway Patrol reports | News, Sports, Jobs


The following arrests were reported by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Thursday:

∫ Braydon K. Staker, 19, of 2850 Wayne Ridge Rd., Zanesville, was driving a 2019 Ford 350 pickup truck southbound on Ohio 60 in Bloom Township on Jan. 2 when he went off the right side of the road into a private yard, where he struck four fences, three decorative stone walls, three flowerbeds, a sewer cover, a flag pole and several trees. The truck turned over and then came to rest on its wheels in a second private yard, where it struck several trash cans and forced the cans into the private residence there. At the second residence, underpinning was knocked loose, windows were broken and siding was dented. The truck was owned by Loves Travel Stops of Oklahoma City, Okla. Staker was taken by M and M Emergency Medical Squad to Genesis Hospital for suspected minor injuries. He was contacted by the State Highway Patrol after the accident and he said he had fallen asleep or passed out. He was charged with failure to be in reasonable control of a vehicle.

∫ Joseph Hardway, 33, of 22 Cloverleaf Circle, Charleston, was driving a 2005 Chevy Silverado pickup truck northbound on Ohio 7 in Grandview Township on Jan. 3 when he went off the right side of the road, struck a utility pole, overturned and struck a tree. He was transported by Grandview EMS Squad to Marietta Memorial Hospital with suspected minor injuries. He was charged with failure to be in reasonable control of a vehicle.
