Ferguson Begins Second Term in Ohio Statehouse | News, Sports, Jobs

Ron Ferguson was sworn in Tuesday for his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives.

Ferguson, R-Wintersville, represents the 96th House District, which includes all of Jefferson and Monroe counties and a portion of Belmont County.

Raised in the Ohio Valley, Ferguson, R-Wintersville, graduated from Indian Creek High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Ohio State University. While at OSU, Ferguson was a politics, society and law scholar.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to once again serve the people of the 96th District,” Ferguson said. “I am eager to get to work and continue to better the lives of all Ohioans, especially those in Jefferson, Monroe and Belmont counties.”

Ferguson spent five years working as a television journalist, most recently for WTOV-TV, and in the spring, he plans to open an entertainment center to bring jobs and fun activities for families in the community.

Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony marked the beginning of the 135th General Assembly.
