FanDuel Sportsbook: Georgia vs. Ohio State Peach Bowl preview

Ohio State and Georgia square off tonight in the Peach Bowl, with the winner advancing to the national championship game on Jan. 9. While Ohioans won’t be able to bet on the Peach Bowl, they will be able to place wagers on the national championship game, which could include the Buckeyes if they beat the top-ranked Bulldogs tonight.

The Bulldogs enter this game undefeated on the year and as 6.5-point favorites over the Buckeyes. Ohio State fell to Michigan for its only loss of the year, and as the underdog in this game has moneyline odds of +220 at FanDuel. The Bulldogs are -275 favorites. The over/under is 62.5 points.

Ohio State averaged an impressive 44.5 points per game (second in college football) this season. The Buckeyes will be facing a top-ranked defense that allowed just 12.8 points per game this year (also second in college football) along with a Heisman finalist, Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett.

Ohio sports betting launch info

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed HB 29 into law on Dec. 8, 2021. This legalized both online and retail sports betting, including betting on college sports.

There are three licenses that entities can apply for in Ohio:

  • Type A: Available for the state’s casinos and professional sports teams to partner with online sportsbooks.
  • Type B: Retail sportsbook license.
  • Type C: Available for grocery stores, bars, restaurants and sellers of Ohio Lottery tickets that want to offer sports betting kiosks.

FanDuel applied for a Type A license in partnership with Belterra Park in Cincinnati. It has received approval from the Ohio Casino Control Commission and will begin taking bets starting Jan. 1. The people of Ohio will be able to bet on teams like the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Cavaliers and many more.

Tomorrow, the Browns take on the Washington Commanders, and the following day, the Bengals play the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. People in Ohio will be able to bet on both of these games at FanDuel Sportsbook.
