Ohio State basketball has no trouble with St. Francis

The Ohio State basketball team was looking for a bounceback victory after losing at Duke on Wednesday. In that game, they had just 6 assists and a whopping 16 turnovers. They played much better against St. Francis, killing them 96-59. It was a three-point show for the Buckeyes.

Ohio State hit 13 threes and made 59% of the ones they took. They shot 50.7% overall from the floor and they had seven different players hit a three in this game, including center Felix Okpara. He got to show some of his range at the end of the game.

Six different Buckeyes scored in double-digits, including the leading scorer Brice Sensabaugh. He had a rough go against the Blue Devils on Wednesday but had a nice bounce back today. He had 15 points and went 3-6 from deep. He’s clearly the most offensively gifted player on the team.

Okpara was the player of the game though. He had 10 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals, a block, and an assist off the bench. What was most impressive about his game is that six of those rebounds were on the offensive end. He is the first big man that I have been truly excited about that Chris Holtmann has had.

This game was expected to be a blowout and it was. Holtmann’s team did exactly what was expected of them. The Buckeyes are a young team that is still learning how to play with one another. They will only get better as time goes on.

The Ohio State basketball team still has to play North Carolina in a couple of weeks, so their tough non-conference schedule isn’t over now. These types of games are good for a young team to play though. It gets them ready for a hard Big Ten slate.

Good win for the Buckeyes. They will take on Rutgers before they play the Tar Heels.
