Newark graduate Gabby Stare earns G-MAC honor for Ohio Dominican

Gabby Stare has been lighting up the scoreboard during the first month of the season for the Ohio Dominican women’s basketball team.

The Newark graduate was named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week after totaling 71 points in two games. Stare piled up 34 points in a 72-70 victory against Maryville (Missouri) and matched her career high with 37 more in a 79-61 loss to Indiana (Pennsylvania) for the Panthers.

Stare, a junior, is averaging 26 points per game for the 2-3 Panthers. She is shooting 54% from the field and a blistering 60% from 3-point range.
