Perrion Winfrey active, Chase Winovich among inactive Browns vs. Bucs

Cleveland Browns rookie defensive end Perrion Winfrey cools down during minicamp workouts on Thursday, June 16, 2022 in Cleveland, Ohio, at FirstEnergy Stadium.

CLEVELAND − Rookie Perrion Winfrey Jr. will be active for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday when they play host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Winfrey had been inactive for the last three games due to various reasons. He missed the loss at Miami two weeks ago due to illness, then missed last week’s loss to Buffalo due to a head injury sustained in a scooter accident.

A team discipline-related issues led to him be inactive for the Week 2 loss against the Jets as well. He’s combined for five tackles and two passes defensed in the six games he’s played.

While Winfrey and fellow rookie defensive lineman Isaiah Thomas are active against the Buccaneers, defensive end Chase Winovich and defensive tackle Tommy Togiai are both inactive. Also among the healthy inactive players are quarterback Kellen Mond, receiver Michael Woods II and running back/receiver Demetric Felton Jr.
