‘Jersey Shore’ stars film scenes in Stamford; Bill and Hillary Clinton spotted while

Scene… “Jersey Shore” stars Vinny Guadagnino, Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino were spotted shooting a scene last weekend at The Wheel restaurant at The Village in Stamford. Anchoring The Village is Greenwich resident Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse, launched in 2018 in partnership with TV personality Jimmy Kimmel.

Out there… The Greenwich Historical Society’s Music on the Great Lawn will feature Nashville artists Gunsmoke live in concert from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. Scene… The Collective West, owned by Westport resident and fashion designer Christian Siriano, opened last month at 940 Post Road E. in Westport. Scene at the grand opening were actresses Debra Messing, Laura Linney and Katie Holmes as well as Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha. Siriano also owns The Curated NYC in Manhattan.

Out there… The Off-Beat Players End-of-Summer celebration and fundraiser takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Third Place by Half Full Brewery at 575 Pacific St. in Stamford. Tickets include unlimited food, beer (for those 21 and up), soft drinks, live entertainment, prize giveaways and an auction. Also, 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit future productions and expanding programming for the Off-Beat Players. The Greenwich-based theater company for young adults with or without disabilities gave a stellar performance of “Seussical” at the Greenwich Country Day theater earlier this month. Scene… Former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, were seen dining recently at Basso56 on King Street in Chappaqua, N.Y., the town where they live.

The 2022 Greenwich Wine + Food Festival’s 10th anniversary Celebrity Chef Gala takes place at Abigail Kirsch at the Loading Dock in Stamford on Friday, Oct. 7, honoring legendary chef Jacques Pépin. It will include renowned chefs Michel Nischan of Wholesome Wave, Rocco DiSpirito and Silvia Barban cooking up specialties. The evening will culminate with dancing to music by DJ April Larken. There will also be festivities on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y., with “The Big Easy,” featuring the sights, sounds and flavors of New Orleans along with a mini-French Quarter. Legendary New Orleans chef/restaurateur Dickie Brennan will serve as master of ceremonies as celebrity and acclaimed area chefs serve up traditional NOLA fare, as well as local craft brews, wine and iconic Bourbon Street cocktails. The 2022 class of Serendipity’s most innovative chefs — Steven Chen of MIKU in Greenwich, Will Friedman of Kawa Ni in Westport, Jared Sippel of L’Ostal in Darien and Renee Touponce of Oyster Club in Mystic — will also be honored. The evening will feature performances by Dumpstaphunk with Cyril Neville performing the music of The Meters, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Out there… The Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich’s annual benefit. “The Summer of Love, Inspired by Andy Warhol and The Swinging ‘60s,” takes place at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9. The evening, co-chaired by Louise Oram-Cho, Katarina Pergola and Claiborne Swanson Frank, will be an elegant tribute to the 1960s, highlighting music and iconic art with fabulous specialty cocktails and cuisine from the era. Out there… Billy and the Showmen, a rhythm and blues band, will perform at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park at Greenwich Harbor from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24. The concert is free and open to the public. The rain date is Thursday, Aug. 25.
