Charles Herbster and Donald Trump draw thousands to rally in Greenwood

Thousands of Charles Herbster supporters gathered in Greenwood, NE Sunday to hear the former president endorse the Nebraska candidate for governor.”We are going to elect Charles W. Herbster, a good man, a very good man, he’s going to be elected as your governor,” said Former President Donald Trump.”I think Charles is going to do well and if he does you’re going to be very happy. And you’re going to have an even more prosperous state, we’ve made it even more prosperous.”The rally, held at the I-80 Speedway, featured a guest appearance from former President Donald Trump, who has endorsed Herbster in the governor’s race.Former President Trump addressed the sexual assault allegations against Charles Herbster.”Charles is a fine man and he is innocent of these despicable charges, by the way Charles welcome to politics,” Trump said. “I have to defend my friends, I have to defend people that are good. These are malicious charges to derail him long enough that the election can go by before the proper defense can be put forward.”When Hebster took the stage Sunday afternoon, he talked about several topics, including critical race theory. Herbster promised that he will ensure the controversial topic will not be taught in any Nebraska schools or universities.The gubernatorial candidate also discussed his stance on illegal immigration. Herbster said he welcomes immigrants so long as they enter the United States legally.Herbster said he’s not going to back down.”We’re going to cut taxes, we’re going to quit CRT, we’re going to take sex education out of the schools and put it back in the homes where it belongs,” Herbster said.Herbster said he’s running because, like Trump, he wants to keep political promises.”I gave a lot of other people money to run for office in this state and they didn’t keep their promises,” Herbster said.Herbster talked about China and said he will not allow the country to buy land in the Cornhusker State. He also said he plans to ensure election security in Nebraska, despite no evidence of fraud in the state.Former President Trump also leveled criticism at Nebraska leadership in Washington D.C.”You’re state is very poorly represented by a grandstanding, little respected senator ,called little Ben Sasse, he’s bad, an embarrassment to the people of Nebraska,” Trump said.”Another one I think is bad news is your guy Don Bacon I think he’s bad news, and I hope you vote like hell against that buy he is bad news.”Trump said he met Steve Kuehl for the first time, the Republican challenger in the primary against Bacon, but he said he supports him, but made clear it’s not an endorsement.”Good luck Steve who ever the hell you are.,” Trump said.Before leaving the stage, Trump once again gave his endorsement.”He’s going to do a fantastic job so get out and vote for Charles W. Herbster.”
