Marblehead Students Honored At Ohio State, Ohio Wesleyan, UMass

MARBLEHEAD, MA — These Marblehead students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

Isabella London attends Ohio State University and was on the Dean’s List in the College of Engineering for Computer Science this past Fall. London is a first-year student at Ohio State.

Nicole Klemm was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Klemm was initiated at the University of Massachusetts.

Klemm is among approximately 25,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.

Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Riley Bowen and Sophie Hauck were both honors students on the Dean’s List at UMass-Amherst this fall.

Bowen is an honors English student and Hauck is an honors political science student.

Ohio Wesleyan University’s Department of Performing Arts was to present a showcase in April of eight new musical theatre works, all themed around moving toward (or away from) things we love.

“Journeys of Love: A Festival of New Musical Theatre, written by professional composers, lyricists, and book writers” features songs and scenes from many of the most talented theatre-makers working in the industry right now.

OWU students taking on production duties included Isabelle Tinti=Kane, who was part of the costume crew.

Pingree School’s first-trimester honor roll included several Marblehead students.

Honor Roll is calculated at the end of each trimester on the basis of the grades earned during that trimester only. Students in the top 10 percent of each class earn High Honors; students in the second 10 percent of each class earn Honors; students in the third 10 percent of each class are placed on the Head of School’s List.

Marblehead students honored include Eva Leikikh, Hunter Jones, Mikaela Selby, Kate Stella, Abby Torres, Juju Manzi and Brooke Hintlian.

(Patch is looking to recognize Marblehead students who have gone on to succeed athletically and academically at colleges or universities. Let us know their stories at [email protected].)
