Bumbalough, Huggins Named to Academic All-MAC Team


CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced the 2021-22 Men’s Basketball Academic All-MAC Team on Wednesday. The Ball State men’s basketball team was represented by Luke Bumbalough and Blake Huggins.
 
Bumbalough finished the season averaging 10.9 points per game. He led the team with 86 assists. He scored a career-high 21 points twice, once against Georgia Southern and once against Bowling Green. He added 20 steals. Bumbalough has a 3.28 GPA and is in the pursuit of a degree in finance.
 
Huggins graduated with a 3.22 GPA and a degree in history with a minor in coaching. Huggins finished his career with 112 points in 405 minutes of action. He brought down 88 rebounds, 51 defensive and 37 offensive. Huggins blocked 19 shots and added 13 assists.
 
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
