Phillies score 5 runs in 8th to beat Mets

PHILADELPHIA – Alec Bohm set a troubling tone early.

Then he sparked a spectacular rally late.

The Phillies scored five runs in the eighth inning in Monday night’s 5-4 victory over the Mets at Citizens Bank Park. Bohm, whose first-inning error ignited New York’s three-run rally, started the eighth inning with a leadoff walk. Bohm committed three throwing errors in the game, but he also doubled and walked twice.

Pinch-hitter Johan Camargo singled to right as Bohm went from first to third to put runners on the corners.

Bohm scored on Kyle Schwarber’s groundout to cut the deficit to 4-1. J.T. Realmuto’s two-run homer to left cut the lead to one. Nick Castellanos then walked with two outs. He scored the tying run on Rhys Hoskins’ double to left field.

Didi Gregorius’ double to right-center field scored Hoskins to give them the lead.
