Ohio State coaches hit road for major basketball events

* Tyler McKinley, power forward, 6-9, Cincinnati Walnut Hills – McKinley (ranked 57th) is considered by many as Ohio’s No. 1 prospect in the 2024 class. He enjoyed a big sophomore year at Walnut Hills, earning Division I All-Ohio honorable mention honors. He led Walnut Hills to a 23-3 season as he averaged 17.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He hit nearly 69 percent of his shots from the floor. He plays for All-Ohio Red on the Nike circuit. He has offers from Cincinnati, Xavier, Kansas State, West Virginia, South Carolina and others. * Jonathan Powell, shooting guard, 6-5, Dayton Chaminade-Julienne – Powell was a third-team All-Ohio pick in Division II as a sophomore. He averaged 16.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game and hit 38 percent of his threes. He plays for All-Ohio Red on the Nike circuit.

* Ace Buckner, point guard, 6-1, Cleveland St. Ignatius – Buckner is the son of former Clemson and NBA guard and Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach Greg Buckner. He played as a freshman at Independence before transferring to St. Ignatius. He helped his team go 17-12 and reach the Division I state final four.

* Durral Brooks, point guard, 6-2, Grand Rapids (Mich.) Catholic Central – Brooks, nicknamed “Phat Phat,” already has offers from Michigan State, Toledo and Oakland U. Iowa, Michigan and Ohio State are also involved. He is considered the top 2024 prospect in Michigan. He led Catholic Central to a 25-2 record and a berth in the Division 2 state championship game. * A.J. Swinton, small forward, 6-5, Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha – Swinton (ranked 52nd) has offers from Maryland, Georgetown, Virginia Tech and others.

* K.J. Windham, point guard, 6-1, Indianapolis Ben Davis – Windham already has interest from Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana and Butler. He averaged 12.7 points per game in leading Ben Davis to a 22-7 record.

* Dellquan Warren, combo guard, 6-1, Philadelphia Keystone Academy – Warren played at Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, last year as a freshman before transferring to Keystone Academy. He has offers already from Maryland, Rutgers and Youngstown State. He plays for Wildcats Select on the adidas circuit.

* Raleigh Burgess, power forward, 6-10, Sycamore, Ohio – Burgess helped lead Sycamore to a 20-3 record this season. As a sophomore, he averaged 10.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots per game.

* Colin White, shooting guard, 6-4, Ottawa-Glandorf (Ohio) – White was a first-team All-Ohio pick in Division III as he averaged 19.1 points per game. He helped lead Ottawa-Glandorf to the D-III state championship game. He had 18 points and seven rebounds in the title game loss to Cincinnati Taft. He will play with Ohio Buckets (Garcia) on the travel circuit.

* Jason Asemota, small forward, 6-8, Phoenix (Ariz.) Hillcrest Prep – Asemota (ranked 18th nationally) has over 15 offers, including Arizona State, Ohio State, Auburn, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Oregon and others. He averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds per game as Hillcrest posted a 31-3 record. He plays for Expressions Elite on the Nike circuit.

* Calvin Little, point guard, 6-2, Cleveland St. Ignatius – Little joined Ace Buckner on the St. Ignatius team that went 17-12 and reached the Division I state final four. He plays for All-Ohio Red on the Nike circuit.

* Ja’Corey Lipkins, point guard, 6-0, Canton GlenOak – Lipkins was an honorable mention All-Ohio pick in Division I as he averaged 15.4 points per game as a sophomore. He plays for Wildcats Select on the adidas circuit.
