Inniss Has Been Told Ohio State Is The Best For Wideouts – Buckeye Scoop

COLUMBUS – It is a big recruiting weekend for the Buckeyes with many of the nation’s top players on campus including a collection of players from the South Florida Express 7-on-7 team. This group contains players from within the state of Florida including four and five-stars from both the classes of 2023 and 2024 and it is just one big name after another.

One of the biggest names is wide receiver Brandon Inniss, the nation’s No. 9 player according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. The 6-foot, 190-pounder is one of the nation’s top recruits and a top recruit on many recruiting boards, Ohio State included.

This is not the first time that the Buckeyes have had Inniss on campus, a one-time Oklahoma commit and while the Buckeyes missed out the first time around on this one, no matter what anyone may try and say about him following Lincoln Riley to USC, the Buckeyes are very much in this one and Inniss is not shy about his love for Ohio State and the relationships that he has been building.

Coach (Brian) Hartline and coach (Keenan Bailey) do a great job with what they do,” Inniss said on Saturday afternoon. “I was talking to Chris Olave about this earlier. He told me that coach Hartline is the best coach he had, it is proven through all the guys he has had come in and out of Ohio State and he wants to do the same with me.”

Inniss has camped at Ohio State and seen the campus before but this visit was important to check off some additional boxes as he gets further in his decision making process.

“I want to see how they practice, I had not been to an Ohio Stat practice,” Inniss added. “I want to see how I fit in the offense, which we went over, and I just want to have a good time.”

The South Florida Express team has no shortage of talent, especially at wide receiver with Carnell Tate of IMG Academy on the same team for 2023 and then younger players like Jojo Trader and Jeremiah Smith in the class of 2024.

Don’t talk about package deals being a must for either Inniss or Tate but there is a real chance that both players could end up at the same school and Ohio State would be one of those potential destinations. What would that look like?

“They already have fear when we step on in 7-on-7, just imagine us on a college field with whatever coach is coaching us at any college,” Inniss said. “I just can’t wait to see it if it happens.”

Inniss has no timetable for a second commitment at this point, it will happen when it feels right and the Buckeyes will just have to keep doing work to land this commitment. Check out other thoughts from Saturday in this exclusive video from his unofficial visit.
