Northeast Ohio Quad Next for Flashes Track and Field


Following several standout performances during the opening weekend of the outdoor season, the Kent State track and field teams will travel to Ashland University for the Northeast Ohio Quad on Saturday, April 2.

Competition from AU Track at the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. with the men’s hammer throw, men’s high jump and women’s pole vault. The men’s 1500-meter run will get action on the track underway at 2 p.m.

PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State has three student-athletes who posted national top-50 marks at the Raleigh Relays last weekend scheduled for competition. Grace Tennant leads the way with a No. 47 ranking in the women’s discus throw and No. 48 ranking in the women’s shot put. Gabby Bailey is just ahead of Tennant in the shot put at No. 39. Jake Wickey is the Mid-American Conference leader in the men’s hammer throw and ranks 46th nationally.

Additional Golden Flashes slated for action who own top-3 MAC rankings are Benja Duff (women’s 100-meter hurdles), Jaheim Jones (men’s 100-meter dash), Angelina Lotarski (women’s pole vault), Aliesha Shaw (women’s discus throw), Briana Wright (women’s hammer throw), Mondo Colome (men’s 100-meter dash), Jonathan Solomon (men’s 400-meter dash), Kristian Kneffler (men’s pole vault) and Jeff Neuhaus (men’s discus throw).

NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
The Golden Flashes will send competitors to the Tennessee Relays (April 7-8) and Joe May Invitational (April 9) next weekend.
