NEWARK WEATHER

? Marietta Empty Bowls Fundraiser + Real Estate Roundup

Hey, Marietta! Here’s everything you need to know to get this Wednesday started off right. Here’s everything happening in town today.

First, today’s weather:

Warmer with clouds and sun. High: 77 Low: 61.

Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. The Marietta Empty Bowls event is holding a special fundraiser this year as donators are still feeling the residual effects of the pandemic. Usually, the event provides soups donated by local restaurants and distributes handmade bowls provided by artisans and students from the area. However, the past two years have kept the event from being held in person. The Marietta Community Foundation is collecting donations to reach its 2022 goal of $6,500 which will then be distributed to local food pantries to fight food insecurity in the area. 2. Looking for your dream home or just interested in listings in the area? Let Patch and Redfin.com be your go-to source for all the latest listings in the Marietta area. A 2 bed/1 bath is listed at less than $100,000 while a 4 bed/2.5 bath on Third Street is listed at $359,000. (Marietta Patch)
  3. Smith & Company Vintage Market will soon open to the public. The market will be located at 1301 Colegate Dr. in Marietta (formerly Weiser & Cawley) and will hold its grand opening on Apr. 1. Smith & Company boasts it holds a “charming blend of old and new”. See if your next vintage find will be revealed at the link! (Facebook)

From our sponsor:

Where should you invest as a Marietta resident with a $149,000 nest egg? Thanks to a change in the legal code, there’s a new investment Marietta residents need to know about. In fact, Bloomberg asked experts where they’d invest $100,000 right now and many of them chose it.

This may surprise you, but it’s fine art.

Growing your nest egg with art isn’t new. Wealthy families like the Rockefellers have done it for centuries.

Here’s why:

  • Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
  • Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
  • Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)

Translation: Art could be one of the best investments for uncertain times.

Luckily for you, we found Masterworks. This revolutionary platform lets you invest in art by Warhol, Monet, Picasso without spending millions.

The best part? Anyone from your area can skip their waitlist*.
