Bryan’s Grothaus named all-Ohio in girls basketball | Bryan Times

For the first time in her prep basketball career, Bryan’s Reese Grothaus was named all-Ohio.

The 5-foot-7 junior guard earned honorable mention in Division II as the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association announced its girls basketball selections in Division I and II on Tuesday.

Grothaus, who had her first two high school seasons cut short after suffering two torn ACLs, bounced back in a big way this year.

She scored a team-high 11.7 points per game for a Golden Bears’ squad that won its third straight Northwest Ohio Athletic League title (second straight outright crown) and had an 18-5 overall record (7-0 NWOAL). Grothaus only played three games her freshman year (2019-20) and about half the season the year after (2020-21).

Grothaus became Bryan’s third all-Ohio girls basketball player in the last four seasons, joining 2021 graduate Shallyn Miley (special mention during 2020-21 season) and 2019 graduate Kennedy Lamberson (honorable mention during 2018-19 season).
