Gerald Brothers Obituary (1924 – 2022) – Everett, WA


Gerald “Jerry” Ernest Brothers, 98, of Everett Washington, passed away peacefully on March 12th, 2022 in his home at Washington Oaks. Jerry was born to Gerald and Alta Brothers on February 22, 1924 in Warren, Ohio. He was the oldest of 14 natural children. Jerry and his siblings were very close to their mother from whom they learned so much. He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in June 1942 and then went on to serve in World War II in the United States Navy from July 30, 1942 to January 18th, 1946. Jerry was married to Winifred “Winnie” Ruth (Armstrong) in 1945; they were married 58 years. After Winnie’s passing in May 2003, he married Mary Ellen Egge (Seager) in 2004; they were married for almost 10 years until her passing in June 2014. Jerry’s passion was in construction building homes. He worked in the banking and real estate business for a number of years. Then he started his own construction business where he built several homes and apartments in Everett, Lake Stevens, and Snohomish. He enjoyed building radio control model airplanes, Husky football, coffee, Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, family genealogy, gardening, golfing, Ralph Lauren Polo cologne, cooking, and anything Apple produced; especially his iMac and iPhone. Jerry is survived by his son, Bill; daughter-in-law, Celery; his daughter, Susan; and his granddaughter, Tina. He also leaves behind six sisters, Barbara Ann Jones, Dorothy Jean Kelley, Janet Lou Vanlandingham, Judith Carol Taranto, Elaine Kay Mansfield, Mary Jayne Brothers Hamilton and other family across the U.S. and friends. Jerry is preceded in death by his seven brothers Eugene, Kenney, Paul “Wayne”, Robert, James, William, and David. The eight boys are now with their mother. The Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 27th at the Evergreen Funeral Home in Everett. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society. “Thank you for being such a strong, hardworking, generous, and loving provider to your family and friends. Your feisty personality with a huge heart will forever be remembered, cherished, and deeply missed. We love you more than words can express.” February 22, 1924 – March 12, 2022
