2022 March Madness live: NCAA Tournament bracket, college basketball scores, Round 2

Sunday is a bittersweet day in college basketball, as it marks the conclusion of the always epic first weekend of the NCAA Tournament. While Sweet 16, Elite Eight, Final Four and national title games lie ahead over the next two weeks, there won’t be another weekend featuring wall-to-wall, single-elimination drama like this until next March.

A 5:15 p.m. ET showdown on CBS between No. 2 seed Duke and No. 7 seed Michigan State is attracting oodles of attention, and rightfully so. But there are still some underdogs to keep an eye on as well. No. 11 seed Iowa State takes on No. 3 seed Wisconsin at 6:10 p.m., as the Cyclones look to reach the Sweet 16 after finishing just 2-22 last season. Then, at 7:10, No. 11 seed Notre Dame plays No. 3 seed Texas Tech as the Fighting Irish look to complete a busy opening week of the Big Dance that began with a First Four win on Wednesday.

If anyone qualifies as a Cinderella on Sunday’s slate, though, it might be No. 9 seed TCU, which is seeking its first Sweet 16 since 1968. The Horned Frogs crushed Seton Hall on Friday night for their first NCAA Tournament victory since 1987, when their now-56-year-old head coach, Jamie Dixon, was one of the team’s top players. All told, it should be a thrilling conclusion to one of the best weekends in sports.
