It took two full innings for the offense to get going. The Bobcats struck first in the top of the third inning. Logan led the inning off with a homerun to right center. After Yuhas was hit by a pitch, Spacek crushed a ball to left center for a two-run homerun, giving Ohio a 3-0 lead.

After a quick rain delay, Ohio added on in the top of the fourth inning, with Spacek driving in a run to put the Bobcats up 4-0. The Bulls got a run back in the bottom of the frame, scoring on an RBI double to cut the Ohio lead to 4-1 after four innings of play.
