Why Kyle, Kim Richards skipped Kathy Hilton’s birthday dinner

Kyle and Kim Richards did not attend their sister Kathy Hilton’s “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”-studded birthday dinner Tuesday night, Page Six can confirm.

The socialite — who turned 63 on Sunday — celebrated her big day at West Hollywood celebrity haunt Craig’s with a barrage of familiar faces, including “RHOBH” castmates Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke, as well as Faye Resnick, Kyle’s best friend.

We’re told Kyle couldn’t join the outing because she “was filming,” and Kim was absent because she “had a commitment” with one of her daughters.

Earlier on Tuesday, Kyle, 53, posted a selfie to her Instagram Story that showed a cameraman and what appeared to be two producers standing behind her. The snap — which looked like it was taken inside the reality star’s home — was accompanied by an animated emoji of a director’s clapperboard.

However, our sources say Kyle was not shooting scenes for “RHOBH,” as filming for Season 12 has already wrapped.

It’s unclear which of Kim’s three daughters she had a commitment with.

Though neither Kyle nor Kim posted an online birthday tribute to their big sister, sources tell us all three are “on good terms” these days. However, that wasn’t always the case.

Admittedly, the original “K” sisters are rarely all getting along at the same time. Though Kyle and Kim were two peas in a pod back when “RHOBH” premiered in 2010, you-know-what hit the fan when the former outed the latter as an “alcoholic” on camera.

Matters were made worse when Kyle’s husband, Maurico Umansky, left Hilton & Hyland — founded by Kathy’s husband, Rick Hilton — to start his own real estate company, The Agency.

Kim eventually left the Bravo show, but in 2015, Kyle began developing a scripted series called “American Woman,” which she said was inspired loosely by the trio’s late mother, Kathleen. But Kathy and Kim were against the idea, and Kyle’s decision to pursue it anyway reignited another years-long feud.

The Paramount show, which debuted in 2018, lasted only one season. And eventually, the Richards sisters reconciled.

In 2021, Kathy finally decided to step onto the “RHOBH” scene in the role of a “friend,” instantly becoming a fan favorite. Kyle and Kathy will appear in the upcoming season in their respective roles, while Kim’s apparently in talks with Andy Cohen about a possible return for Season 13.
