2022 Big Ten Tournament bracket, schedule: Live updates, college basketball

The Big Ten Tournament’s already been full of surprises this week, and the second round of play on Thursday really delivered on the drama as it featured an epic Michigan collapse, a dominant Iowa win, a close shave for Sparty and a true stunner with Penn State downing Ohio State. And we still have the quarterfinals, semifinals and the title game on the docket in coming days.

Penn State’s win to cap Day 2 was the big surprise, as the Nittany Lions lost twice to the Buckeyes in the regular season. They fell behind by as many as 13 points and trailed for more than 33 minutes of game action but closed it out in a 71-68 win. They’ll play No. 3 seed Purdue in the quarterfinals finale late Friday having already tied for the most Big Ten tourney wins in a single postseason since 2011.

Friday will also be a chance to catch the big dogs in action with all five of the league’s top seeds in play including No. 1 Illinois, which kicks off the quarterfinals round with a showdown against No. 9 seed Indiana. The Hoosiers are teetering on the bubble and in dire need of a quality win — but lost to the Illini by 17 in their lone regular season showdown.
