Solon’s Bethany Mercer takes fifth: OHSAA Division I girls diving results
CLEVELAND, Ohio – A season’s worth of training all came down to Thursday’s Division I girls diving championship at Canton McKinley’s C.T. Branin Natatorium.
Solon’s Bethany Mercer finished fifth, the highest among Northeast Ohio area girls. With a final score of 443.55 she edged Mason’s Langley Petersen who finished sixth with 442.25
The next best area finishers were North Olmsted’s Elisa Davis 14th with a 388.55 and Hudson’s Lydia Redd who scored 387.45 to finish 15th.
Cincinnati area schools represented well. Of the eight divers on the medal stand, five were from the southwestern Ohio schools. That includes champion Elizabeth Noble of Walnut Hills (491.8) and runner up Mallory Hanna from Ursuline (480.75). New Albany’s Emma Skinner took third (469.65).
