Akron native Chris Livingston returns to Northeast Ohio on Monday
Twin brothers Chris Livingston and Cordell Livingston are set to return to Northeast Ohio on Monday with their Oak Hill Academy basketball teammates.
The Akron natives are scheduled to compete in the Canton Play-By-Play Classic, a boys basketball doubleheader at the Canton Memorial Civic Center that pits Buchtel against Lake at 6:15 p.m. and St. Vincent-St. Mary versus Oak Hill Academy at 8 p.m.
Ticket prices for the two games range from $18 to $42 and are available for purchase at https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/05005C3F9CF724A6. Each ticket is good for both games.
The Livingstons are in their first year at Oak Hill Academy, a private, Baptist-affiliated high school in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia after previously playing high school basketball at Buchtel and Western Reserve Academy.

Chris Livingston was selected in January as a McDonald’s All-American. He will be one of 24 boys to compete in the McDonald’s All-American Game in Chicago on March 29.
Oak Hill features a basketball team that each year includes players from all over the United States, and in some years also has players from other countries.
Chris Livingston, a 6-foot-7 starting forward, is averaging 16.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game this season in 30 games with Oak Hill.
Cordell Livingston is a 6-foot reserve guard with Oak Hill.
The Livingstons transferred to Oak Hill Academy this past September during their senior years. Chris Livingston committed to play basketball on scholarship at the University of Kentucky two weeks after he and Cordell left NIHF STEM High School in Akron.
Chris and Cordell Livingston helped lead Buchtel to a Division II state semifinal appearance as freshmen in 2019 and to a Division II regional final as juniors in 2021. The Griffins won the City Series regular season and postseason titles each season, and Chris Livingston was named the City Series Player of the Year for both seasons.
The Livingston brothers helped Buchtel compile a 20-8 record and win City Series, sectional, district and regional titles en route to making the Division II state semifinal appearance in 2019.

Chris Livingston was named the Northeast Ohio Inland District Division II Player of the Year and the Beacon Journal Player of the Year in 2019; and also received All-Ohio honors with averages of 24.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game.
Chris played in 25 games at WRA as a sophomore for the 13-16 Pioneers. He averaged 32.5 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.4 blocks per game.
Chris averaged 31.1 points, 15.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 4.7 steals and 4.3 blocks per game as a junior at Buchtel as the Griffins compiled an 18-5 record. He was named the Gatorade Ohio Boys Basketball Player of the Year and finished as runner-up for Ohio’s Mr. Basketball Award in 2021 behind St. Vincent-St. Mary graduate Malaki Branham, a freshman starter at Ohio State University.
Chris was also a Beacon Journal boys basketball all-star team selection, the Division II Co-Player of the Year for the Northeast Inland District with Branham, and a first-team All-Ohio and All-Northeast Inland District selection in Division II.
Prior to signing with Kentucky, Chris held scholarship offers from several other schools, including Tennessee State, Memphis, Georgetown, Ohio State, Iowa State, University of Alabama Birmingham, Akron, Louisville, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and Detroit Mercy.

The Livingstons started playing competitive basketball at the age of 5. They attended Schumacher in kindergarten and Emmanuel Christian Academy in Akron for grades 1-8.
The Livingstons returned to Akron Public Schools for their freshmen year and attended NIHF STEM High School and played basketball for Buchtel. They split their sophomore year between NIHF STEM and WRA, and returned to NIHF STEM for school and Buchtel for basketball.
