Yellow Jackets stroll to G-MAC win at ODU
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Conner TenHove racked up a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Cedarville to a 80-64 G-MAC result at Ohio Dominican.
Branden Maughmer came up with 16 points and six assists for the Jackets, 15-10 overall and 10-7 G-MAC, and younger brother Jayvon Maughmer added 15 points.
TenHove went 4-for-4 from deep in the opening 20 minutes as the visitors took a 40-28 lead into the intermission.
The Panthers closed to within seven early in the second half, but Cedarville answered with a 20-9 run to put the game away.
The Yellow Jackets outrebounded ODU, 33-25, and committed just four turnovers.
Stinger Notes:
- TenHove’s double-double was his fourth of the year.
- The Maughmer brothers were credited with three steals apiece.
- Bryan Vander Have made another triple and is 7-for-11 from deep off the bench.
- CU’s four turnovers matched the second-fewest in a game this season (3 at Hillsdale).
- The visitors forced 13 miscues and outscored ODU, 20-5, off turnovers.
- The Jackets lead the series, 66-25, which began in the 1969-70 season.
- The two rivals will do it again on Saturday at the Callan Athletic Center on Senior Day.
