SANDY SPRINGS, GA – A man wanted in a two-year-old Ohio murder was arrested in Sandy Springs, officials said.

Sandy Springs Police S.W.A.T., U.S. Marshals, and members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force took Adarus Black into custody late Tuesday night.

Black, 19, was wanted on murder charges for the June 2020 shooting death of 18-year-old Na’Kia Crawford in Akron, OH, authorities said. Howard was shot several times in broad daylight as she was running errands for her grandmother, according to police reports.

Police bodycam footage captured the arrest and showed that Black had an assault rifle tucked in his coat when he was taken from the car. Investigators interviewed Black’s companion and released her without charges.
