Gahanna Lincoln bowling star Eddy Pax voted SBLive’s Ohio High School Athlete of the Week


Congratulations to Gahanna Lincoln bowling star Eddy Pax for being voted SBLive’s Ohio High School Athlete of the Week for Jan. 24-30!

The senior rolled a team-high 469 series with games of 226 and 243 to lead the Lions to a 2,332-1,962 win over Hamilton Township.

Pax ran away with this week’s honor, receiving 75.6% of the total vote.

Here are the other athletes who were nominated for Jan. 24-30:

Daniya McDonald, Whitehall girls basketball

The sophomore, who averages 20.6 points per game, had 29 points in a win over Beechcroft and scored 21 points in a win at Buckeye Valley. 

Rob Dorsey III, Northland boys basketball

The senior scored 30 points and had seven rebounds and three steals to lead Northland to a win over Linden-McKinley.

Trinity Pollard, Bedford indoor track

Placed first in the 60-meter dash with a personal best of 8.34 seconds and fourth in the 200 meters with a season-best 28.46 at the NEOITC Series Green Division No. 2 meet.

Addesa Miller, Dalton girls basketball

Put up 22 points and six rebounds in a 69-63 triple-overtime win over Wooster.

Naomi Keib, Smithville girls basketball

Hit three 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 20 points as the Warriors dominated Central Christian 65-7. Also had 14 points and eight rebounds in a loss to Wayendale.

Rileigh Hostetler, Triway gymnastics

Hostetler helped undefeated Triway achieve its highest team score of the season with 130.95 points. Hostetler placed second in the all-around (32.95), fourth on the vault (7.85), third in bars (8.25), first on the beam (8.2) and fourth on floor (8.65). 

Zennia Thomas, Warrensville Heights girls basketball

Thomas — who averages 30.4 points per game — had 24 points, 20 rebounds and four assists vs. Shaker Heights.

Matt Mizner, Hoover boys basketball

Nailed the game-winning 3 with less than five seconds left to upset St. Ignatius 50-48.

Danny Flood, Buckeye boys basketball

Scored 28 points vs. Keystone to break Buckeye High School’s all-time scoring record with 1,084 points.

Ayden Parsons, Worthington Kilbourne boys basketball

Accounted for over half of his team’s points, finishing with 33 in Worthington Kilbourne’s 53-40 win over Delaware Hayes.

Olivia Klanac, Medina girls basketball

Scored 20 points in a win over Brunswick to set a new program record for most varsity points by a freshman in a single season. 

Sophie Schoch, Medina swimming

Placed first in four events — the 200 medley relay, 200 individual medley, 500 free and 200 free relay — to secure the team’s victories over Euclid and Hoban.

Brayden Costea, Minerva boys basketball

Costea scored a career-high 37 points including seven 3-pointers to lead the Lions to a 55-51 win over Carrollton. Also had 33 points in a win over Claymont.

Nolan Ramsey, Cleveland Heights ice hockey

Ramsey had two goals in a 6-0 win over NCDL to crack the program’s top 10 in career goals scored and goals in a season.
