CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Rocky River house was the most expensive home sold in Cuyahoga County in December.
The two-story, colonial-style house at 21916 Avalon Drive sold for $3.8 million, according to property records. The four-bedroom, 4 1/2-bathroom home has more than 6,000 square feet of living space and a three-car garage. It was built in 2011 and sits on about 0.8 acres.
The top 10 most expensive homes sold in the county last month all went for more than $1 million. All but one are in the eastern suburbs.
Real estate agents have said in recent months that they see signs that the housing market is stabilizing after being fiercely competitive since summer 2020. Prices continue to rise, however. Fueled by the coronavirus pandemic, a combination of low interest rates and a lack of supply has lead to bidding wars.
The agents also said, though, that the market competition has a cap, and that homes go for amounts approaching and above $1 million is far less fierce.
