9 ways to see dance and classical music in Columbus this season

Feb. 11-19:

Greater Columbus classical music and dance organizations promise to nourish souls and feed spirits in the months ahead.

The Columbus Symphony and the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra will play music that inspires and challenges. Those with a taste for the drama of great opera can choose between the CSO’s performance of the operatic warhorse “La Boheme” or Opera Columbus’ thought-provoking production of the contemporary opera “Fellow Travelers.”

Vibrant dance productions look to remain a part of the arts scene on the heels of the return of BalletMet’s “Nutcracker” in December. From BalletMet’s “Giselle” to the touring Russian Ballet Theatre’s “Swan Lake,” dance lovers will have plenty to feast their eyes on. And if you consider jazz the most romantic of all musical languages, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra and guest vocalists will be performing for Valentine’s Day weekend.
