Officials release death investigation report


Bob Saget died in Orlando at the age of 65.The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WESH 2 that the legendary comedian and “Full House” actor was found dead Sunday in a room at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando.Latest from medical examinerOfficials say the Orange County medical examiner performed an autopsy on the body of Bob Saget Monday morning.According to a statement from the medical examiner, “the cause and manner of death are pending further studies and investigation which may take 10-12 weeks to complete. When the autopsy report is finalized, a follow-up press statement will be released. Records showed the last time he used his key card to enter his room was 2:17 a.m. Sunday.Family members contacted Ritz-Carlton security who sent a team member to perform a welfare check.When the security team member entered the room, he noted all the lights were off.Investigators found no signs of foul play. The room was “orderly” with Bob Saget’s items on the nightstand, TV stand, closet and bathroom.According to the report, Saget’s “left arm was across his chest while his right arm was resting on the bed. No signs of trauma were seen.”He observed that Saget was on his bed and was “cold to the touch, yellow and clammy.” No pulse or breathing was detected.Hotel management spoke with Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, to inform her of his death.He was then pronounced dead at 4:18 p.m.911 callOfficials released 911 audio from after Saget was found. Hard Rock sends our deepest condolences to Mr. Saget’s family, and we join the rest of the entertainment industry in mourning his loss.”Just one day ago, Saget wrote on Instagram, in part: “I had no idea I did a two hour set tonight. I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it.” A couple that saw Saget perform in Orlando said they are in shock.“I didn’t believe it. I was like, ‘There’s no way. We just saw him two days ago,’” said Amanda Gingold.Remembered by friends and familyThe comedian is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and three children.In a statement Sunday, Saget’s family members said they are “devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today…. Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”Fellow comedians and friends praised Saget not only for his wit, but his kindness.”I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him,” wrote John Stamos, who co-starred with Saget on “Full House.” “I love you so much Bobby.””I have no words. Bob was one of the best human beings I’ve ever known in my life. I loved him so much,” said Candace Cameron Bure, who played Saget’s daughter on “Full House.””In often a ruthless business he was historically not just hilarious but more importantly one of the kindest human beings I ever met in my career,” actor Richard Lewis wrote on Twitter.
