Resources for Return

In alignment with the vision established in Each Child, Our Future, Ohio’s strategic plan for education, Ohio’s education community is engaged in a partnership-based approach to providing the services and supports necessary to meet the needs of the whole child. This includes taking steps toward ensuring students, educators and staff are healthy, safe and successful every day. The Department continues to work with districts and schools to address challenges presented during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and beyond.

This webpage provides information and resources to further support the academic, social and emotional needs of each Ohio student. Resources on this page are intended to assist Ohio’s education community in achieving a safe and successful 2021-2022 school year including the following:

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government allocated Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Programs (ESSER) and American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds to local education agencies (LEAs) as they respond to emergent needs in their schools and communities. The information below can serve as practical advice for districts, community schools and stakeholders as they make local decisions regarding how to direct ESSER ARP funds.
