Can’t Believe It’s Vegan announces storefront

Clayton Freeman’s delivery-only business, Can’t Believe It’s Vegan, which operates out of the Food Fort, announced this week that a brick-and-mortar location is in the works. The new eatery will be located at 584 W. Schrock Road in Westerville, a couple of doors down from The Draft Room. CBIV offers a menu of vegan sandwiches, pastas, rice bowls and more.
A new coffee offering is coming soon to Italian Village. Zaftig Brew Pub (119 E. Fifth Ave.), which is known for its high gravity beers, recently announced a new collaboration with Westerville’s Java Central Café & Roaster that will be located at the Fifth and Summit brewpub. According to a post on social media, Java Central will also be adding more seating at its Westerville café at 20 S. State St.
The Korean bakery Tea Zone Bakery & Café (5025 Olentangy River Road) is now under new ownership. Tea Zone has been in business since 2005 and changed hands last year. The family run spot continues to carry Korean-style pastries, cakes, bubble tea and desserts such as bingsoo.
The NAICCO Cuisine food truck is offering monthly platters featuring Native American-inspired fare. This month, the Haudenosaunee Platter ($25/platter) is available to order by emailing [email protected]. The platter features smoked salmon, Oneida corn soup, fry bread and Iroquois corn cake. Pick up is Saturday, Jan. 15.
Weenie Wonder, the new hot dog concept from the owners of 16-Bit Bar + Arcade and Pins Mechanical Co., announced that its grand opening will take place in February at 6562 Longshore St. The fast-casual eatery will be attached to the 16-Bit location in Bridge Park.
Closings
The only Ohio location of Corner Bakery Café, a Panera Bread competitor, has closed at 1478 Gemini Place in Polaris.
Tamo’s Pizzeria appears to have shut down at 1333 Northwest Blvd. in Grandview. The building has been cleared out, and the pizzeria is listed as permanently closed on Yelp.
