WELLSVILLE — Mary Anne Frischkorn, 77, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a sudden illness.

She was born October 11, 1944, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Clyde Cecil and Helen (Mack) Piatt. In addition to her parents, Mary Anne was preceded in death by her sister, Hannah Mack Piatt.

Mary Anne graduated from Wellsville High School as the Valedictorian of the class of 1962. She continued her education at Mount Union College where she graduated cum laude in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in education. Mary Anne taught school in Bel Air, MD and also in the Wellsville Local School District. Her career was cut short when she was needed on the family dairy farm. It was quite an experience for a young woman who (before marriage) had never met a cow. She learned to milk cows, raise calves, drive tractors, fill silos, rake hay, and repair equipment. When they decided to change from dairy cows to beef cattle, Mary Anne began a third career. She trained as a Lay Pastor with the Upper Ohio Valley Presbytery. The Calvary Presbyterian Church in Salineville called Mary Anne to serve as their pastor. She retired after 15 years due to health problems. It was a most rewarding experience to serve her congregants. She was a member of Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church and attended Wellsville First Christian Church.

In her later years, Mary Anne “retired” to the farm where she continued to help when able. Her greatest passion was cooking. Her table was a welcome place for any friend who happened by. Mary Anne treated the young men and women who helped out on the farm as part of her family. She not only shared food with them, but also her way of living and her love of God.

Mary Anne’s family was most important in her life following only her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who blessed her every day with His presence. She raised her children, Sara and Andy, in her home, in the barn, and in the church. They were always her greatest joy.

Mary Anne was truly a life partner to her husband, Ronald A “Ronnie” Frischkorn, whom she married December 23, 1966. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Sara Anne Frischkorn (Anthony) Snyder, of Appleton, WI; her son, Ronald Andrew (Danette Spreainde) Frischkorn, of Wellsville; five grandchildren: Emma Snyder, Truman Snyder, Frank Snyder, Chrissy (Adam) Kelly, and Lucas Andrew Frischkorn; and two great-grandchildren: Tiegan and Lenix Kelly.

The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service on Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Mary Anne’s name to one of the following: Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street, Wellsville, OH 43968, Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church, 42070 Oak Ridge Road, Wellsville, OH 43968, FFA of Southern Local School District, 38095 State Route 39, Salineville, OH 43945, or Beaver Creek Church Camp, P.O.
