Softball Hosts Ohio State in Weekend Series

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue softball team (10-22) begins its final two-week home stand with four games this weekend versus Ohio State at Bittinger Stadium.

The series will begin today at 4 p.m. ET, followed by a doubleheader Saturday at 1 and 3:30 p.m. ET before closing game Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. Fans can stream the game live on Big Ten Network Plus, or tune in online to the radio broadcast.

NOTES

  • Rachel Becker leads the Big Ten in x categories: batting average (.482), runs (30), hits (53), doubles (14), total bases (75)
  • Senior Ryleigh Scott recorded five RBI in both double header games at Michigan State (4/23), tying for the most by a Big Ten player in a single game this season. She is the only batter in the league to accomplish the feat more than once.
  • Additionally, Scott produced two triples in each of the Michigan State (4/23) games, the only Big Ten player to record as many in a single game.
  • Becca Jones is one of seven Big Ten players to produce three or more runs in a single game this season (at Michigan State, twice on 4/23).
  • As a team, Purdue recorded multiple season-bests at Michigan State on 4/24, including nine RBI, and six doubles while matching its season-high nine runs.
