Ohio lawmakers work to stop transgender girls from playing girls sports: The Wake Up


CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio legislators have introduced bills that would prevent transgender females from competing in girls and women’s sporting events.

It likely is just the beginning of bills from Ohio lawmakers targeting issues involving transgender males and females. The Center for Christian Virtue is working on legislation that would ban minors from receiving hormone therapy, puberty blockers and surgeries for the purpose of gender transition — even if their parents and physicians support the child’s transition. In other news, a state appeals court upheld a law that punishes doctors who perform abortions because prenatal tests reveal a child could be born with Down syndrome. And there’s another name in the race for the U.S. Senate, Cleveland investment banker and real estate developer Mike Gibbons.
