Johnny Browning Jalen Wenger Division III, IV All-Ohio boys basketball

Johnny Browning of Malvern and Jalen Wenger of Dalton each earned first-team all-state honors in Division IV on the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association All-Ohio Boys Basketball Teams. The OPSWA All-Ohio teams for Division III and IV were released Monday morning.

The 6-foot-5 Browning averaged 14.8 points per game to go with 8.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists. The senior also led the team in steals, shot 57% from the floor and 71% from the foul line. Browning scored 1,200 points and earned IVC North Player of the Year honors.

The 6-3 Wenger, a junior, averaged 22.1 points per game to help Dalton win back-to-back Wayne County Athletic League championships. He was the WCAL Player of the Year, as voted on by coaches. Wenger shot 43% from 3-point range.

Divisions I and II will be released Tuesday, with Ohio Mr. Basketball being announced Wednesday.
