An employee at Annunciation Catholic school in Minneapolis reportedly had “inappropriate physical contact” with a student, according to a letter sent out to the school families.
A letter sent by Annunciation’s administration informed families that the school received a report of the alleged incident early last week.
Annunciation contacted the Minneapolis Police Department the next morning and is cooperating with the investigation, according to the letter. The school also contacted Judge Tim O’Malley, director of the Archdiocese’s Office of Ministerial Standards and Safe Environment.
School administration met with the parents of the student and informed them of the allegations.
The employee was placed on leave pending MPD’s investigation and an internal investigation by Annunciation.
“We will keep you informed of this situation as it develops, but ask for your patience because it is unclear how long the process will take,” the letter reads.
“We will continue to comply with the Archdiocese’s safe environment policies, practices and procedures to ensure that all students, employees, and community members know how to identify and report possible abuse and misconduct and prevent abuse.”
