Kim Kardashian West Isn’t the Only One of Her Siblings Who Has Considered a

Kim Kardashian West may have made her dream of becoming a popular reality star come true, but being rich and famous isn’t her only passion in life. In 2019, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star revealed that she would be pursuing a career in law since she’s always been fascinated by criminal justice.

While she is currently working toward becoming a lawyer, it turns out that Kardashian West isn’t the only one in her family who’s considered turning her passion for law into a career.

Kim Kardashian West has been interested in law for years

Kardashian West may have found her calling in the judicial system after helping to free Alice Marie Johnson from prison in 2018, but her passion for law was something she discovered long before she started working on prison reform.

Since her dad, the late Robert Kardashian Sr., was a very well-known lawyer and represented O.J. Simpson during his infamous 1995 murder trial, Kardashian found herself subconsciously discovering her love of law during her youth.

When the legal team would come over to prep for trial, the reality star would spend time looking through law books and studying the evidence.

The KUWTK star even told her father a few years ago that she was interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice. However, the Kardashian patriarch discouraged his daughter from becoming a lawyer, telling her that the job “will stress you out so much. You do not really want to take this on.’”

Though Kardashian West ended up pursuing a career in reality television, her interest in law never went away.

In fact, in 2016, the SKIMS founder told Wonderland Magazine that she was considering going to law school sometime in the future.

“If things slow down and I had time, I really wanna go to law school – just something I can do in my older age,” she said. “Or I could become a forensic investigator. That would be my ultimate. I can really investigate things.”

Kim Kardashian West is studying to become a lawyer

In 2019, Kardashian West surprised everyone when she announced that she is studying to become a lawyer. However, she is not going down the traditional law school route.

During an interview with Vogue magazine, the reality star revealed that she is doing a four-year apprenticeship with a San Francisco law firm. At the moment, Kardashian West is studying hard to prepare for the bar exam, which she plans to take in 2022.

Last year I registered with the California State Bar to study law. For the next 4 years, a minimum of 18 hours a week is required, I will take written and multiple choice tests monthly. As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way. I’ve seen some comments from people who are saying it’s my privilege or my money that got me here, but that’s not the case. One person actually said I should “stay in my lane.” I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes, just as I am. The state bar doesn’t care who you are. This option is available to anyone who’s state allows it. It’s true I did not finish college. You need 60 college credits (I had 75) to take part in “reading the law”, which is an in office law school being apprenticed by lawyers. For anyone assuming this is the easy way out, it’s not. My weekends are spent away from my kids while I read and study. I work all day, put my kids to bed and spend my nights studying. There are times I feel overwhelmed and when I feel like I can’t do it but I get the pep talks I need from the people around me supporting me. I changed my number last year and disconnected from everyone because I have made this strict commitment to follow a dream of mine – It’s never too late to follow your dreams. I want to thank Van Jones for believing in me and introducing me to Jessica Jackson. Jessica along with Erin Haney have taken on the role of my mentors and I am forever grateful to them both putting in so much time with me, believing in me and supporting me through this journey. This week I have a big torts essay due on negligence. Wish me luck ✨⚖️
