2 Employees Sold Vape/Tobacco Products To Minors In Suffolk: Police


Crime Section officers from the 6th Precinct in Selden opened an investigation into the sales after community complaints, police say.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Two men were charged in connection with selling vape and tobacco products to minors in Port Jefferson Station and Coram on Monday, Suffolk police said.

In response to community complaints, Crime Section officers from the 6th Precinct in Selden opened an investigation into the sale of vape and tobacco products at local businesses during which two were found to be in violation of the law, according to police.

A 57-year-old Farmingville resident who is an employee of Coram Smoke Shop on Middle Country Road in Coram and a 28-year-old Brooklynite who works for Elite Tobacco Shop on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station were charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor, police said.

Both men were issued Field Appearance Tickets and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
