Charlotte vape shop demolished by thieves in stolen Kia


CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A University City tobacco and vape shop was smashed by a group of people who used a stolen car to steal from the store early Thursday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said. 

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. at University Tobacco and Vapor, which is just off North Tryon Street on University Pointe Boulevard. The suspects used a stolen Kia Forte to smash the storefront before stealing approximately $100 worth of products, according to a CMPD report. The crash caused an estimated $60,000 in damage, police said. 

It’s unclear if anyone was hurt during the incident or if CMPD has identified any suspects in the case. Anyone with information about this incident or any other case is asked to call Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
