Apparent homicide at vape shop
The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what is believed to be a shooting death at a North Road business.
The sheriff’s office was called to the Tobacco and Vape shop on North Road at 4:40 p.m. Sunday.
“Something happened inside that appears to be a homicide,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said at the scene.
“We had an officer in the area who was able to take a person in custody,” he said.
There’s no threat to the community, sheriff’s office spokesman Richard Walker said.
He said the incident apparently followed a disagreement.
The incident is under investigation.
The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
