Toddler puffs away on vape in shocking video as furious people blast ‘child
Viral footage shows a young child sitting in a baby seat of a car and puffing on a disposable vape with people slamming whoever was supposedly looking after the youngster
A toddler can be seen puffing on a disposable vape while sitting in a baby seat of a car in disturbing footage.
Many people online have blasted whoever was supposed to be looking after the child that was described by one person as “child abuse”.
In the clip that has more than 600,000 views the toddler takes two puffs from the vape and then begins to cough before looking at the person who was filming. Then an older child is heard coughing and said: “You’re choking me with the vape.”
The person who uploaded the footage on X asked what is “wrong with people?” as they angrily wondered why anyone would give a vape to a child.
And in one reply a social media user agreed: “These people need locking up, child neglect of the highest order.” While another said: “What kind of people subject a child to this and then display it to all?”
There were many similar comments with one stating: “This is wrong on so many levels actually makes me angry this terrible parenting right there.” And another said “terrible is an understatement.” It comes amid news that disposable vapes will be completely banned in a dramatic bid to stop youngsters becoming hooked.
The new rules, which are set to come into force next year, will herald the end of throwaway Lost Marys and Elf Bars. Ministers will also get new powers to restrict vape flavours, introduce plain packaging and change how vapes are displayed in shops so they don’t appeal to children.
The Government argues the changes are needed to protect kids as figures show one in five has now tried vaping despite it being illegal for under-18s. E-cigarettes can be helpful for smokers wanting to quit, but there are worries that the addictive habit is being taken up by those who have never had cigarettes.
Research shows that half of those aged between 18 and 24 who use disposable vapes do so despite no history of smoking. Health campaigners have warned that they are being lured in by pocket money prices, with throwaway products available for as little as £3. There is also a problem with litter as five million disposable vapes are thrown away each week.
