Windsor Ballroom features Spruce Alley Sally

Join us at the Windsor Ballroom, 415 N. Last Chance Gulch, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, as Spruce Alley Sally, an energetic five-piece swingrass group from Missoula plays bluegrass roots, with a touch of swing.

Mountainfilm on Tour at The Myrna

The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation is hitting the road, bringing their annual film festival to five different cities around the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex.

The Helena show kicks off on Thursday, March 14, at 6 p.m. at The Myrna Loy.

Mountainfilm on Tour to screen in Helena at the Myrna Loy on Thursday, March 14. The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation has been hosting Mountainfilm on Tour since 2007 as a fundraiser.

‘Stories from the Powwow Trail’ at Dinner Club

The Metropolitan Dinner Club presents “Stories from the Powwow Trail” on Thursday, March 14, at the Natatorium Room on the main floor of the Delta Hotel.

Mike Jetty will share his story as a tribal member of the Spirit Lake Dakota and Turtle Mountain Chippewa. 

Reservations are required. No host cocktails begin at 5 p.m., dinner at 6, entertainment at 7. Dinner for each member and their guests are $27 each; nonmembers are $35 each. Membership cost is $20 (Snowbird Special). Please call Patti at 406-202-1766 for more information.

Broadwater Community Theatre hosts FUN-Raiser

Broadwater Community Theatre will be hosting their annual fundraiser on Saturday, March 16, at The Lodge, located at 131 S. Spruce St. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., live music, silent auction, food and refreshments will run until 8.

Tickets will be available at Reading Leaves and Broadwater Blooms. Ticket cost is $20 per person, cash or check only.

Enjoy complimentary charcuterie, and check out the many auction items donated by local businesses. The evening will include Irish and old country music, performed by the Helena Handbasket fiddle quartet, members include Terry and Jim Gundersen, and Candace and Dave Payne. Come for fun and games with cash prizes, as well as a 50/50 raffle, hosted by our beloved leprechaun, Pat O’ Trick.

This year has many things in store for Broadwater, including the Queen’s City Swing band March 23, Missoula Children’s Theater this May, two additional children’s plays later this year, and much more.

Community seed swap

Join us from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, at the Lewis & Clark Library, 120 S. Last Chance Gulch, in the large community room for a seed swap.

There will be kids’ activities, door prizes and guest speakers. At 2 p.m. Richard Thieltges will tell us all about seed and garden management, and at 2:30 the nursery program specialist from the Montana Department of Agriculture, Carson Thomas, will talk about the anatomy of a seed and germination.

Helena Community Gardens will have a booth set up to assist with plot sign-ups.

Brew and View at The Myrna

Brew and Views at The Myrna Loy, 15 N. Ewing, are the best way to enjoy your favorite cult classic movies. Part costume party, part street party, part watch party.

The event starts at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, and the film debuts at 8 p.m. for an evening of weird, as Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro kidnap us, stuff us in the back of their trunk, and take us for the ride of our lives in “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.”
