Cleveland Guardians lose to Seattle Mariners, Cal Quantrill struggles
Home hasn’t been so sweet to the Guardians thus far in 2023.
After a successful road trip, the Guardians dropped their second consecutive game at home, 3-2 Saturday to the Seattle Mariners. They lost 5-3 to the Mariners in Friday’s home opener.

The Mariners jumped on Cal Quantrill early, putting together a two-run first inning and adding another run in the second to take a 3-0 lead. He did slow the damage, though, allowing just those three runs over five innings with three strikeouts. His ERA rose to 6.52.
Myles Straw went 1-for-2 with an RBI single, two walks and a stolen base, and is hitting .370 with six stolen bases this season.
