Johnstown’s Abigail Adkins leads Licking County’s All-Ohioans
COLUMBUS — Five Licking County girls basketball players were recognized for their play this season Monday by the Ohio Preps Sportswriters Association.
Johnstown junior Abigail Adkins was named to the All-Ohio Division III third team and Utica sophomore Abby Dickson to the honorable mention list. Newark Catholic junior Kylie Gibson was named to the Division IV special mention list and sophomore teammate Fini Kaiser and Granville Christian junior Brianna Hubbard each to the honorable mention list.
Adkins returned to the lineup after missing the first month to injury and led the Johnnies on a nine-game winning streak to end the regular season. She averaged 17 points per game, including a season high of 28, and 2.3 assists per game.
Dickson averaged 15.3 points, 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game for Utica.
Gibson averaged 14.4 points and 3.1 steals per game for the Green Wave. She shot 40% from the field, including 38% from 3-point range, and 77% from the foul line.
Kaiser averaged 11.6 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. She shot 50% from the field.
Hubbard averaged 9.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 5.1 steals per game for the Lions.
The All-Ohio lists for Divisions I and II will be released Tuesday.
