World Cup live scores, updates: USA vs. England score; FIFA World Cup 2022

The main event of Day 6 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar is here as England and the United States square off with the top of Group B on the line. Wales vs. Iran kicked off the the action dramatically from Ahmed bin Ali Stadium as the second round of games got underway in Group B.

A game that looked to be headed for the tournament’s fifth 0-0 draw, sparing to life in the last 20 minutes with a red card to Wales keeper Wayne Hennessey seeing red, followed by two late Iran goals keeping the nations hope alive for advancement.

After that, Senegal’s win against Qatar sent the hosts on their way towards elimination from the tournament. The Netherlands and Ecuador battled for top place in Group A. The two sides fought to a well-earned draw over the 90 minutes with Cody Gakpo aiding  the Dutch with an early goal in the first half. Enner Valencia scored the equalizer for Ecuador and the goal was his third of the tournament. The two teams are now level in the group with four points each with one game remaining in the group stage.

With three matches in the books the main even of the day takes center stage with England facing the United States men’s national team. With Iran’s victory over Wales, the winner of this match becomes virtually (or in the case of England actually) guaranteed to advance to the knockouts stages. Can the United States men’s national team find an upset or will England roll?
