Garland Lifts Cavs Over Thunder – WQKT Sports Country Radio


The Cleveland Cavaliers were able to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder at home Saturday night by a final of 94-87. The win for the Cavs is the sixth win in the last seven ballgame.

For the Cavs (28-19), guard Darius Garland had a double-double with 23 points and 11 assists, which led the team in both categories. Meanwhile, rookie forward Evan Mobley and center Jarrett Allen both secured double-doubles of their own, with Mobley ending with 15 points and 17 rebounds and Allen with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

In the second quarter, forward Lauri Markkanen went down with a lower body injury and did not return to the game.

For the Thunder (14-32), guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 29 points while also grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out six assists. Forward Kenrich WIlliams had 12 points and four rebounds off the bench, while forward Luguentz Dort had 10 points and an assist before being ejected in the fourth quarter due to hitting Cavs forward Kevin Love with his elbow.

The Cavs next game will be a home matchup against the New York Knicks on Monday, January 24th, with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
